I had a request off a client who recently had a gorgeous baby girl and found it challenging to find tops that are stylish and allow breastfeeding. Do such tops exist?

I am always on a look out for clothes that allow breast-feeding (anything with buttons usually, but maternity brands as such I found very unstylish)…dresses, nice T-shirts etc., sporty elegant also suitable for work on a casual day. Preferably natural fibres. (I’ve spent too much time in white cotton T-shirts which is now way overstretched:)!

I would love to help my client and other woman out there, like her, who also find it challenging to find stylish breast feeding tops. I have put together a list of my 5 most stylish breast feeding tops that I think are great purchases for breast feeding mumma’s out there.

If you have at least 5 breast feeding tops that you love, and make you feel great, it will be so much easier to get dressed in the mornings!

1. SABA – The Little Karlie Cardigan

This gorgeous cardigan is also a top, it has a closure on the shoulder to create a cowl neck top. It is great for layering with your breastfeeding cami’s and it comes in a few colours and also a longer length.

2. Ripe Maternity Asymmetric Nursing Top

This classic dressy top is great for those rare nights out ;-). You can add your personal style through colour and texture with a statement necklace.

3. David Jones Nursing Top

This is a great smart/casual knit top with a chiffon under layer that you can dress up with a pair of black skinny jeans and statement wedges or down with blue denim and tan leather sandals. I am a huge fan of knitwear, especially because there is no ironing involved!

4. Birds Nest Boho Birds Crossing Plain Sweater

This one oozes cosy! It’s a fab turtle neck knit which is great for the cooler weather.

5. Sportsgirl Wrap Front Tee

This is an easy every day basic t-shirt which is awesome for breastfeeding. It is great for every day wear.

Other fab breast feeding tops include:

• Off the shoulder tops – especially awesome if you’re into the peasant/ folk fashion trend

• Zip opening tops

• Button openings in tops

• Wrap Styles in stretch fabric, great for breast feeding mamma’s with a large bust
