Frequently Asked Questions

I'm so very excited to be helping you on your path to look and feel fab!
This is an investment in yourself with rewards you will reap for years to come!

I have work with clients through hundreds of style sessions over the years so I know you may have a few questions before you book your session (particularly if this is your first session).

This is going to be a fun experience all about you, setting you up with the knowledge and confidence so you can get dressed every morning with ease.

It’s normal to be nervous as you approach your first styling experience.
My aim is for you to feel comfortable and excited. You can trust that I do what I do with a friendly and warm approach.

Here are the FAQ’s to help you know what to expect.

Should you have any questions between now and our session together, no matter how small, please don’t hesitate to be in touch.

General FAQ

I’m a mum to 3 so I totally get how hard it is to juggle kids and making time for yourself.

Ideally you will probably get more out of the session without interruptions. However,  I can be accommodating with babies and kids with all the styling sessions.

You may want to start working towards your style transformation ahead of our time together. Being curious and open with the concept of your style direction, visual cues and style goals can be really beneficial to our time together. More than anything, curiosity and openness is the best thing to prepare for.

To get the most value out of your styling session, it can really help to prepare:

Create a collection of images, looks, and styles you are drawn to or aspire to. You can do this using a Pinterest board , instagram, screen-shots or magazines.

If you use Pinterest please invite me to your Pinterest board so I can start visualising and planning for our time together.

If you get really stuck on this process and are completely unsure what you’re drawn to or what you like when it comes to fashion, please don’t worry. This is not a must and I can help you draw out your style and vision during our style consultation.

I will be in touch with you to organise an in depth personal style consultation ahead of our shopping day. This is usually held in your home about a week before we shop. This conversation is an integral part of styling you with success and it will give you an opportunity to tell me all about what you want to achieve and your personal style journey.

You can pay by bank transfer and I will email you a bespoke gift voucher for you to print off and put on the card.

Yes, men form a large part of Living for Style’s clientele.

Yes, very happy to shop with your teenager.

Virtual Session FAQ

You may use your phone or Laptop. Your phone can be handy as you’re able to walk around with me and change my view more easily.

You will need to setup your camera in your wardrobe area. Ideally, I need to be able to view you from head to toe if you stand back so that you can show me garments and any outfits/garments that you try on. Having a private place nearby where you can change/try on garments (check mirrors and windows to ensure your privacy is maintained) is ideal, so you don’t have to walk too far from the camera if needing to try on (to save time).

Having a full length mirror close by is also ideal.

It’s suggested you test your camera setup to ensure that lighting and camera placement is ideal. This will prevent your session time being absorbed with technical adjustments. You can test a ZOOM meeting here and select “host a meeting” to trial the camera view.

Yes, I can offer this session on weekends and weeknights to make it more convenient for you.

You can trust that I will curate a beautiful, functional and stylish collection within your style and wardrobe needs. I create video for you using an incredible platform that enables me to talk you through each piece of clothing I select, why it works and how to style it. Essentially you will feel like you are shopping with me. You will also be given a click-to-shop summary enabling you to easily shop the list of garments I curate for you quickly and easily.

Wardrobe Refresh Session FAQ

To save time it would be great if you could lay out your shoes and bags near your wardrobe. It would also be great to clear your bed so I have room to lay clothes out.

Please attempt to have garments out of the wash cycle or returned from dry cleaning.

I will also send you a video prior to the session to let you know what to get ready for each of the sessions.

Within the wardrobe refresh, Shannon will aim to assess all of your day to day clothing.

You will not need to try on everything on items Shannon suggests.

I recommend you wear a well-fitting bra. Undergarments make all the difference to how an outfit looks.

If a professional bra fitting is something you are in need of, I recommend contacting Tori from the Bra Stories for a free expert bra fitting and undergarment recommendations for your shape and lifestyle. Please contact me to arrange your obligation free and no-charge fitting.

The Wardrobe Refresh allows for a style consultation and approx 3 hours of wardrobe analysis, organising and styling.

During this time we can usually achieve a full wardrobe cleanse of a standard double door wardrobe approx 2m wide, as well as shoes & accessories.

If your wardrobe is larger than this, please advise me prior to booking.

If you require additional styling time it’s charged at $150 ph should Shannon have the availability.

It’s not necessary, but a tidy clean wardrobe can help speed up the process and get more from our time together.

There’s no need to do your own wardrobe-cull first, after all that’s what I’m there for. But if you feel the need to remove some garments before I get there I believe that you’re likely to feel the same way when I arrive, so go for it.

Personal Shopping Trip Session FAQ

Please wear comfortable slip on shoes on the day, as we will be doing a bit of walking.

Also try to wear clothing that is quick and easy to remove and avoid lots of buttons or complicated zips etc.

I would recommend you wear a top and bottom as opposed to a dress.

A well fitting and supportive bra will make a world of difference to your experience in the change rooms. If you’re overdue, I recommend a bra fitting prior to our shopping session.

I conduct Personal Shopping Trips throughout Sydney. Specifically at Chatswood Chase, Westfield Warringah Mall and Chatswood

No, every personal shopping trip is bespoke to the clients requirements.

I would allow at least 3 hours for a shopping trip however depending on how many items are on the shopping list we may need up to 4 hours.

Every wardrobe and client shopping list is different. My standard shopping package is 3 hours and during this time we can usually fulfil a shopping list. If you are in need of a whole new wardrobe, it can sometimes take a little longer.

You can secure more of shopping time with additional styling time being charged at $150ph.

Yes, but on most occasions it is more productive to give individual attention.

Westfield Warringah Mall has offered complimentary valet parking for all of my clients.
