Summer in the southern hemisphere is just around the corner. Whether you are packing to go somewhere warm abroad or staying local when it comes to packing as a mum my bag is always left until last. When you’re on holiday and travelling the most important element of any outfit is comfort, and with these 6 easy tips you can also add style to your outfits to have you feeling fabulous!

1. Start with the Basics
Packing the fundamentals makes building outfits so much easier with key pieces that can be mixed and matched. The following three basics are always the first things I lay out when packing;
– Basic T-Shirts in black, white and one in a colour that suits you.

– Denim, jeans, shorts or skirt depending on the activities you will be doing on your holiday.

2. Layers
When planning for a holiday in summer, with the predicted third La Niña in Australia, being prepared with layers is very important. A light jumper, tank top and versatile jacket such as a stylish wind jacket are perfect additions to your suitcase just in case.

I love this jacket from Aje Athletica that was featured in my recent outfit inspiration on Instagram. You can shop the outfit and jacket here.

3. Knitwear
Knits are also great for layering and if you choose knits in natural fibres such as Cotton they are breathable, soft and comfortable. I love the knits from local Northern Beaches label Kivari.

4. Easy care fabrics
Whether you roll or fold when packing, it is inevitable that some clothes crease and the last thing you want to do on a holiday is iron your clothes. This is another reason I love knitwear, but also choosing fabrics like Lyocell which I love in this Shirt Dress from H&M.

5. Jewellery and Accessories Travel Case
Save yourself time from untangling and keep your jewellery and accessory items safe in a travel case.

6. Pack light
Creating maximum outfits from minimum items with pieces that can be mixed and matched easily will take the overwhelm away when you’re on holiday. I would also recommend packing only three pairs of shoes – sneakers, sandals that are comfortable to walk around in all day and a dressier pair of sandals for evenings. And don’t forget to wrap your shoes in plastic bags to protect your clothes from getting dirty. Known for their comfort status, I do love the look of these Bared sandals which are designed with a biomechanical footbed for extra support and this makes them great when walking on holidays – as well as looking stylish.
