Have you ever gone on holiday, looked around, and thought “How do they all look so effortlessly stylish?”
The Inspiration
I’ve just returned from travelling through Spain we walked the Camino and then spent time relaxing in Mallorca. And I have to tell you, I was loving how the women dressed, especially in Barcelona.
They weren’t chasing trends, and they definitely weren’t overthinking their outfits. Yet they looked so chic linen trousers, relaxed shirts, natural fabrics, simple accessories, and soft neutral colours. Effortless, yet elegant.
As a stylist, I couldn’t help but notice what made their style stand out and how we can bring that same calm confidence into our everyday lives here in Australia.
The Struggle We All Know
Let’s be honest most of us don’t feel that way during school drop-offs, work mornings, or weekend errands.
We’re busy, tired, our bodies might have changed, and getting dressed can feel like another thing on the to-do list.
So many women tell me, “I used to love clothes, but now I just grab whatever’s clean.”
You might have a wardrobe full of clothes, yet nothing feels quite right. You end up rotating the same three safe outfits — and that spark, that little bit of joy in getting dressed, fades away.
Sound familiar?

The Spanish Style Lessons You Can Use Right Now
1. Keep it simple, but intentional
Spanish women don’t overcomplicate things. They build their outfits from great basics wide-leg trousers, crisp white shirts, soft knits, and neutral tones and make them feel fresh with thoughtful accessories or beautiful shoes.
2. Prioritise fit and fabric
Natural fibres like linen and cotton were everywhere. They’re breathable, timeless, and flattering. When your clothes feel good on your skin, you naturally stand taller and move with more confidence.
3. Add personality through details
It’s the little touches that make the difference a pair of gold hoops, a woven bag, a printed scarf. These small choices express who you are without overdoing it.
4. Dress for how you want to feel
Whether you’re off to the markets, work, or school pick-up, start your day by asking: “How do I want to show up today?”
That one question changes everything about how you approach your wardrobe.
